When Maye finds her best friend dead in a ditch, she goes to her wannabe-cult-leader client for answers. With the magic of female friendship, holy roleplay, and microplastic-fueled redemption, everyone gets their flowers.
My goal with this film was to bring my unfiltered voice and unbridled aesthetic to the forefront. The gritty, campy, Gen-Z rawness of this film feels refreshing and resilient.
Heaven Sent is a reclamation of sexual autonomy and a rejection of the male gaze, imagined in a 16mm, grindhouse-inspired world of pastels and cheap lingerie. Maye’s cultish belief in “Jesus Sex Magic” ultimately saves the day, proving that women’s narratives—especially those of women in sex work—need not always serve as cautionary tales.
this film is currently under consideration for festival screenings around the world.
